Arg! Why does everything scan so light? Other people don't seem to have a problem with this. I even went over it again and made all the shading darker and re-scanned it. Meh.

So anyway, I'm experimenting with shading, since I never do enough. Thoughts? Tips? Suggestions?

This is loosely based on some sort of random picture I have in my room. The original is a full-length portrait, so at first I was going to do that, then I decided to start with just her head, and then I got carried away. By the way, kudos if you can figure out what ballet this is (look at the headpiece).
